Brian and Nikki married at the iconic Mission Ranch Carmel included a stunning portrait session at Carmel River Beach after their wedding ceremony. Both working for the PGA, golfing wedding photos at their Welcome Dinner at Spanish Bay Golf links was an extra personal touch.
One of the huge advantages of having a wedding at the Mission Ranch in Carmel is that everything and everyone is in one gorgeous spot. You get to spend more time with your loved ones and friends between the ceremony, cocktail hour and reception. Brian and Nikki even trusted me to take them off-site to the nearby carmel beach for some stunning wedding photos on the Carmel coast and BOY was it worth it.
Though the days can be foggy in Carmel, it really makes for some stunning portraits on the coastline. Plus it didn’t take long because Mission Ranch is so central AND they got to join in their cocktail hour before the party got started come Reception time. We did this with some quick directing at Carmel Beach for their wedding photos, and keeping things light and fun! The two locations we stopped at were just off the road, so it didn’t take long for an easy climb down and up for the views. 5 minutes and at one beach location, and 5 minutes at another. There’s really nothing that excited me more than a rocky beach shoot and for a wedding in carmel, you HAVE to take advantage of those views! I mean, look at how stunning their photos turned out–even in the fog of the day!
I’m so lucky when my couples trust me with the timeline and photo locations–and I always always remember that though I could take portraits for hours, the most important thing is that they enjoy their day and get to their party! And boy, Nikki and Brian did just that 🙂
